Families

  • Is there new life in your family?
  • Do you tend to think outside of traditional religion and are not sure how to honor this new era in your family?
  • Do you wish you could celebrate your child and your family’s new constellation without feeling uncomfortable or anything you are not?

There is a solution. Whether there is a new child in your family through birth or adoption a ceremony can help everyone celebrate your new family member, honor God and/or God/guard parents and all of the new family relationships.

Family is the most important institution known to humanity. These types of ceremonies are a profound way to celebrate your love for your family, community and all those who came before you. Also, family ceremonies help to internalize the vibrant heart-centered memories that see us through life’s inevitable tumult.

I work with families from all backgrounds to create an authentic ceremonial experience. Typically there are 4 types of ceremonies that I co-create to celebrate families: Naming, Blessing, Welcoming or Family Ceremony.

Here is a quick overview of each – During a Naming Ceremony we share the child’s name, it’s meaning and your vision for the child and your family.  A Blessing Ceremony recognizes your gratitude to the Source of Life and your child’s connection to the Divine, usually prayers are offered and Godparents appointed. During a Welcoming Ceremony, we let the child know how glad the family that is that s/he is here and acknowledge all of the new relationships that are now founded. With every Family Ceremony the family pledges to nurture the child to a happy, healthy adulthood.

Because each family has word for word approval of the script, each ceremony is a one-of-a-kind tribute to be cherished for a lifetime and, the written copy and/or video can become a keepsake for generations.
